Coleraine FC is delighted to announce the formation of Coleraine FC Academy through the amalgamation Triangle Youth FC and Tullans Youth FC. We are also pleased to announce that Triangle Youth FC have agreed to bring their Saturday morning soccer school under the academy banner also. The academy will therefore accommodate boys and girls who wish to play football within the local area from 7 years of age to 17 years of age. It is recognised that the formation of Coleraine FC Academy has required each of the clubs to allow their identities to pass into history but believe that this imaginative step will further enhance the development of local players for the long term benefit of local soccer and Coleraine FC in particular. The management and directors of Coleraine FC wish to place on record their recognition of the years of service the coaches, assistants and parents of each of the clubs have given over many years to the development of local youth soccer. It is also recognised that this service extended beyond the football environment and into the local community as a whole, delivering a very valuable and worthwhile youth service and all delivered by volunteers freely. This is an exciting development for local football and we are delighted that those involved with each of the clubs have agreed to continue in their roles under the academy banner. The continued coach development leading to player development will be at the forefront of the academy aims. Already the academy has secured entry into a number of youth leagues for all age groups from under 11 to under 17 years. Such is the depth of local youth football it is anticipated that the academy will be fielding an average of two teams per age group in different leagues throughout Northern Ireland. With this announcement Coleraine FC hope to develop a youth academy which becomes the envy of the rest of the Irish League. Given the number of players involved we are looking forward with relish at the prospect of Coleraine FC developing today’s youth players into tomorrow’s JJB Sports Premiership winning team for the club. It is hoped to commence training etc for all the teams in the very near future and further details will be circulated. Coleraine FC will be inviting all boys and girls who wish to play football to do so at the academy. Players can be assured of a very warm welcome and parents can be assured that their children will receive the best coaching available in the area from IFA and UEFA qualified coaches. The club would also like to assure parents that child protection policies will be in place and all those involved will have completed child protection training with the necessary checks having been completed before anyone is permitted to have any role within the academy. Currently we are using the old Triangle FC club website. You may find references to Triangle dotted around, as the new season progresses they will be replaced with Coleraine FC Academy images and reports.
