Coleraine FC Academy v Institute

Coleraine U14s, in their first competitive game, were held to a three all draw by Institute. The fledgling team has only been together for a few weeks and, if the first match is any indication, they will be a force within the North West league. The game was played in perfect conditions at the University. The inexperience of the Coleraine lads was evident when Institute grabbed the opening goal early in the first halt. However the Coleraine boys kept their heads and began to get back into the match and were full value for their equaliser which was well taken by Adam Donnelly. Coleraine took the lead early in the second half through Carl Campbell although Institute equalised shortly after. Coleraine thought that they were going to get full points when Scott Anderson grabbed a third with little time on the clock. However in the final minute Institute managed to equalise when a deflection dropped kindly for their striker. It was a very pleasing opening game for Coleraine. A good squad is being assembled and there will be lots of improvement over the course of the season.
